NSE, BSE, MCX – List of Trading Holidays for 2026

By Bhaveek Patel 1 Comment

We have entered 2026 and here is the list of trading holidays for the exchanges. You may plan your long vacations this year as we are having lots of long weekends coming on the way. 2025 has been a great year for trading as stocks have skyrocketed with booming 5% returns in the last calendar year.

A holiday calendar is one of the tools of an options trader. As in the case of a holiday, the options premium is always higher. So an option writer is more comfortable when writing options on a week having fewer trading days. The risk of gap up and gap-down movement is higher as less number of days for trading.

If you are willing to do BTST (buy today sell tomorrow), then have a look at the settlement and clearing holidays as well. As the next day being a holiday, brokers may not permit to sell the stocks bought today. So better is to check the holidays’ calendar and proactively ask the broker if taking BTST trade will be good.
